The University of Piemonte Orientale was founded as a State University in 1998. This is the only University in the region of Eastern Piedmont and it is now a young and competitive multi-campus characterised by territoriality, plurality and diversity. This multi-campus embrace the cities of Alessandria, Novara and Vercelli and the University counts more than 12.000 students, 400 professors and researchers, 300 employees.
The department of Law, Political, Economic and Social Studies is located in the city of Alessandria and it offers:
- undergraduate course in Social Work: The course is designed for students who want to become social workers. This course is strongly interdisciplinary and the main topics are sociology, social work, psychology and law. It also offers theoretical knowledges and practical skills to guide the profession of social worker in the integrated welfare system.
- first-level master in Management of Social Work in socio-health, health, social assistance organisations. This master was born to develop participants’ skills and abilities in order to assume the function of management and coordination of these organisations.
