The Faculty of Social Work, Health Care and Nursing Sciences
The Faculty of Social Work, Health Care and Nursing Sciences focuses on education and research in social work, nursing sciences and development and education in childhood. It is characterised by high academic standards, clear-cut profil areas and long experience of education and research.
Around 1000 students are enrolled in the Faculty’s Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs taught by 40 professors and 90 lecturers and supported by over 30 administration and research staff members. The faculty offers four Bachelor programs and four Master programs:
Bachelor’s degree programs:
- B.A. Social Work
- B.A. Early Childhood Education
- B.A. Nursing management
- B.A. Nursing Education
Master’s degree programs:
- M.A. Social Work
- M.A. Nursing Sciences
- M.A. Socio-Pedagogical Educational Research
- M.A. Social Economics (postgraduate/part-time)
Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) Social Work:
The majority of the faculty’s students are enrolled in the Bachelor’s degree program in Social Work. 93/94 students are enrolled every semester. The 7-semester long degree program leads to a Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A.) in Social Work. This qualification entitles the holder to use the professional title »State-recognised Social Worker«. The Bachelor’s degree program enables students to acquire professional competences. Graduates are able to plan, organise, supervise, teach, evaluate and further develop social work practice in a scientifically based and practically oriented way.
Students of the BA degree program in Social Work can take the Study Path INTERNATIONAL. With a degree including the Study Path INTERNATIONAL, students acquire competences in the following areas:
- International expertise
- Intercultural expertise
- Language expertise
