The book is a result of the project “Unheard voices: Developing the East Central European Network for the Prevention Of Elder Abuse” founded by the EASSW.

The project brought together scholars and practitioners from across East Central Europe, EU and beyond.  Six formal partners also members of EASSW worked together on this comparative work which involved voice from Canada and USA. Scholars, legislators, practitioners and professionals from participating member states established several cooperation programs. The aim was to initiate a regional transnational network for cooperation in teaching and research, and to translate the findings into effective and proactive social work practices, awareness campaigns, and social policy initiatives.
